Monday, July 30 - Thursday, August 2:

8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Friday, August 3: 8:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

(or while supplies last)


Doors open at 8 A.M.

Note: The parking lot and the entrance for the program are located behind the school. The gates to enter the parking lot are located on Idea Road and will open at 6:00 A.M. See map of where to enter to park.


Children will be served on a first come, first served basis.


For children in grades Pre-K (4 years old) through 5th (no older than 12).


Each child will receive a new backpack, two sets of clothing, socks, underwear and school supplies.


-Children must be present to be served.
-The first 400 children will be served each day while supplies last.
-Please know child’s clothing size, name of school, and grade.
-Parent or guardian must show an ID.



Back-to-School is an important community program that provides children living in need with one backpack, a set of school supplies, two new sets of clothing and a book.


The Program helps children feel confident and creates positive experiences at the beginning of school which promotes academic success.

There will be two shifts. A morning 7:45 a.m. - 11 a.m. shift and an afternoon shift from 10:45 a.m. - 2 p.m. You may sign up for one shift or work through both shifts. If you would like to work the entire duration of 7:45 a.m. - 2 p.m., you need to sign up for both the morning and afternoon shifts on the VolunteerSpot website. Please feel free to ask questions if you need assistance.





Help children choose their clothing according to guidelines given and ensure the clothes fit properly.



Distribute school supplies and backpacks to the children.



Help children find age-appropriate books.



Encourage children to draw, color or create while they wait to be called by a volunteer.



Complete registration forms with parents.

Must have good handwriting. Bilingual a plus.

Let us know if you speak Spanish so that we can put you in an area where bilingual volunteers are needed.



Assist with entering client information into our database at our offices on Harmon Avenue.



Photograph the program for use in future Manos marketing and publicity. Please be available to upload photos from digital media immediately after the program and be willing to give Manos and partners approved by Manos rights to reprint and distribute the photographs.



Shoot video of the program. Film volunteers, children, and staff and capture what BTS is all about to publicize the Manos and its programs. Please be willing to give Manos and partners approved by Manos rights to distribute the video.



Entertain groups of children for approximately 45 minutes while they wait to pick out their clothing. Volunteers with experience performing, entertaining children, or working with children will help make this a fun experience for children.
